Non Surgical Face lift - Live on TV

Network news station ABC7 recently showed a 54 year old woman receiving anti aging treatments to lift and tone her face live on its early evening newscast.

Like nearly 80% of all people who consider anti aging treatments, Kathy, the 54 year old volunteer “patient” stated that she definitely would not undergo a surgical procedure: “It’s cutting into the face…why would you want to do that..?” she asked ABC7’s Medical Reporter.

Kathy was given four treatments during the course of the newscast which came live from Arlington.  First of all she was shown having an eyelid lift using Thermage - a treatment based on Radio Frequency waves previously only available for use on the forehead, neck and cheeks.  She then went on to receive Botox injections, ‘Restylane’ filler for the lip to nose line and a ‘Sculptra’ injection to stimulate the production of collagen in the face.

Dr Dale Isaacson, who performed the Thermage treatment confirmed that the trend is for women to opt for several non-invasive treatments rather than surgery.  Asked why he thought this was, his response was simple and direct: “They don’t want the down-time, they don’t want the side effects…and they want a more natural look…they want to look like themselves”.

At the end of the session which were given on only one side of the face, Dr Isaacson pointed out the results which he said were clearly visible on the treated side.

The trend towards non-invasive treatments and away from surgery has been confirmed by recent figures which show that facelifts have been knocked of the top five most popular anti aging treatments.  Non-surgical facelifts like Thermage and other so called ‘non-invasive’ methods such as botox and dermal fillers seem to be the future for anti aging procedures.
